PointClickCare Acquires Audacious Inquiry Making a Useful Pairing of Healthcare IT

On February 1, 2022 PointClickCare Technologies announced its plan to acquire the health IT company Audacious Inquiry. Doing so would expand their care coordination network.

On March 16, 2022, the leading healthcare technology platform announced the closing of the acquisition. Together PointClickCare and Audacious Inquiry will improve patient outcomes through a highly integrated care collaboration platform. The deal was valued at $650 million dollars.

PointClickCare Technologies were founded in 1995, and is located in Mississauga, Canada. PointClickCare is the market leader, driving the transformation of healthcare’s vulnerable and complex populations through a broad, connected care network. This network is powered by deep insights with a commitment to value, outcomes and innovation. They connect post-acute and acute care settings, people and systems. PointClickCare cloud-based software provides for the long-term post-acute care and senior living provider markets, and its electronic health record is used in nearly 70% of U.S. skilled nursing facilities.

Audacious Inquiry was founded in 2004, and is located in Baltimore, Maryland. Audacious Inquiry is a national connected care platform that supports care coordination by enabling data exchange between at-risk healthcare providers, care managers, payers and others value-based care partners. With the addition of Audacious Inquiry's network, PointClickCare’s scale now reaches 2,700 hospitals, more than 2,000 ambulatory sites and more than 22,000 long-term and post-acute care facilities.

With the merger of the two companies, they will enable care coordination and value-based care solutions to more than 150 million people in the United States. Both have focused on ensuring a smooth transition of care for their patients as 92% of hospitals in the United States discharge patients to facilities that utilize PointClickCare Technology solutions.

Over the past two decades, Audacious has built a suite of SaaS solutions supported by strategic advisory services. The company partners with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as regional health information exchanges, hospital associations, state government, health systems, payers and ACOs (fiercehealthcare).
